Lady Reb Golfers Finish 9th

BATON ROUGE, La.- The Ole Miss women's golf team finished in ninth place Sunday at the 2001 LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in their last regular-season tournament of the 2000-01 season. The Lady Rebels finished the weekend with a 319-301-308 = 928.

LSU took the team championship with a 295-286-283 = 864. The Lady Tigers outlasted second place Auburn, who completed the weekend with a 293-289-290 = 872.

Ole Miss was led by Bernadette Luse, who finished the weekend with a 77-73-75 = 225 to tie for 17th place. Marci Kornegay finished tied for 31st place with a 80-74-78 = 232. Elizabeth Hoffman shot a third round score of 77 to finish the tournament with a 80-78-77 = 235 to tie for 39th place.

Teresa Brown finished in 45th place with a 82-78-78 .238. Lori Cate finished the weekend with a 82-76-81 = 239 to finish in 46th place. Kerrie Davis, who competed as an individual, completed play tied for 48th place with a 84-80-78 = 242.

The Lady Rebels will be back in action on April 20-22, when they play in the 2001 SEC Championships at the University Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
