Ole Miss In Seventh After Second Round

BATON ROUGE, La. -- After finishing the first round of the 2001 LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in 10th place, the Ole Miss women's golf team finds itself in seventh place Saturday after day two. The Lady Rebels has a 36-hole total of 319-301 .620.

Ole Miss' second round score of 301 ties their season-best round. Ole Miss also scored a 301 in the second round of the 2001 Lady Gator Invitational on Feb. 24.

Bernadette Luse led the Lady Rebels with a 77-73 --150 and is tied for 13th place. Luse's second round score of 73 is a career-high for the sophomore from Orlando, Fla. Marci Kornegay is tied for 24th place with an 80-74 .154.

Lori Cate (82-76) and Elizabeth Hoffman (80-78) are tied for 36th place with a 36hole total of 156. Cate's round of 76 is a career-best. Teresa Brown fired a second round score of 78 and is tied for 42nd place with a 36-hole total of 82-78 .160. Kerrie Davis, who competed as an individual, is tied for 49th place after fired an 84-80 .164.

Final round play is slated for Sunday at the University Club.
