Lady Rebel Golf Prepares For SEC Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - Coming off a ninth place finish at the 2001 LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic, the Ole Miss women's golf team now set their sights on the 2001 SEC Championships in Gainesville, Fla., Friday-Sunday.

The Lady Rebels fired a 319-301-308 .928 to take ninth place in Baton Rouge.

The lineup for the Lady Rebels at the SEC Championships include Teresa Brown, Marci Kornegay, Elizabeth Hoffman, Bernadette Luse, and Lori Cate.

Luse, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., leads the Lady Rebels in stroke average with a 78.93 average in 15 rounds played this season. Brown, a senior from Windermere, Fla., ranks second on the team with a 79.38 average in 24 rounds.

First round play is scheduled for Friday, with play continuning Saturday and Sunday at the University Golf Course on the campus of the University of Florida.

Highlights of the tournament will be shown on April 26 at 6 p.m. (CT) on FOX Sports Net South.
