Women's Golf Prepares For Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Lady Rebel golf team takes to the road this weekend to participate in the Mercedes-Benz Women's Intercollegiate Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. The tournament will be played Friday through Sunday on the par 72, 5,968-yard Gettysvue Polo, Golf & Country Club.
Competing for the Lady Rebels will be Teresa Brown, Elizabeth Hoffman, Bernadette Luse, Kerrie Davis, and Teesha Ash. Brown, a senior from Windermere, Fla., finshed third overall at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate held Sept. 22-24. Hoffman, a junior from Kingwood, Texas, carded a career best round of 72 in the first round of the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate. Luse, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., placed 13th at the Lady Rebel. Davis, a sophomore from New Orleans, La., shot a season-best round of 75 in the second round of the Lady Rebel. Ash, a freshman from Ringgold, Ga., competed as an individual at the Lady Rebel and tied for 51st place.
The Lady Rebels are coming off a third place finish the 2000 Lady Rebel Intercollegiate here Sept. 22-24. Brown currently leads the team with 76.6 stroke average. Hoffman is second on the team with a 76.8 stroke average.
