KOHLER, Wis. -- Robyn Rinaldo, a member of the Ole Miss women's golf team, shot an 11-over par 82 in the second round of the U.S. Women's Open at Blackwolf Run Golf Course and missed the cut with a 19-over par 161 for the tournament.

Rinaldo shot an eight-over par 79 in the first round on Thursday and was nine-over par through 14 holes of the second round on Friday when play was suspended at 8:40 p.m. She completed the second round on Saturday, and the players with a 150 total through the first 36 holes advanced to the final two rounds.

"I am very proud of Robyn for participating in the U.S. Women's Open," Ole Miss women's golf coach Keil Purdom said. "She gained some valuable experience by playing in such a prestigious tournament, and it will be an asset to her as she prepares for her junior year at Ole Miss."

Rinaldo, a native of Dade City, Fla., qualified for the U.S. Open field by finishing fourth in the Florida Sectional with a 74 and was the low amateur at the sectional. She is the first Lady Rebel golfer to qualify for a professional tournament.

As a sophomore in 1997-98, Rinaldo helped lead Ole Miss to its first-ever NCAA appearance as the Lady Rebels were invited to participate in the NCAA East Regional at the Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C. Rinaldo was named honorable mention All-SEC for the second year in a row and finished with two top five, three top 10 and five top 20 performances, including a first-place finish at the Lady Seminole Classic.
