Lady Rebel Golfers Ranked No. 17 in the Nation

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team is ranked No. 17 in the nation by Golfweek magazine, according to the Oct. 10 issue of Golfweek. It is the highest ranking ever for the Lady Rebels.

Ole Miss has recorded three top five finishes in four tournaments this year, including a victory at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate. Ole Miss shot a school-record low 287 at the Lady Seminole and has a team stroke average of 300.90.

"I am very proud of our team for working so hard this year," Ole Miss head coach Keil Purdom said. "We have performed extremely well in our tournaments this fall, and I hope we can continue to improve throughout the year."

Two Lady Rebel golfers are in the running for the Golfstat Cup, which is awarded to the women's collegiate golfer with the lowest yearly scoring average. Megan Breen, a senior from Longwood, Fla., is 25th in the nation with a 73.70 stroke average, and Robyn Rinaldo, a junior from Dade City, Fla., is 32nd with a 73.90 stroke average.

Breen won the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate and has recorded three other top 10 finishes, while Rinaldo has finished second, third and fourth in four tournaments this fall.
