Lady Rebel Golfers Open Spring at UCF Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team kicks off the spring Monday at the UCF Invitational, hosted by Central Florida at the par 72, 6,820-yard Stoneybrook Country Club in Orlando, Fla.

The teams will play 18 holes on Monday and Tuesday with tee time at 7:30 a.m. (EST) each day. The field also includes Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida Southern, Florida, Miami and South Alabama.

Robyn Rinaldo, a junior from Dade City, Fla., leads the Lady Rebels with a 74.00 stroke average and three top five, three top 10 and our top 20 performances on the year. Rinaldo's best finish in the fall came at the Auburn Tiger Invitational, where she tied for second with a 69-74-- 143 and set a new Ole Miss record for lowest two-round score.

Senior Megan Breen of Longwood, Fla., is second on the team with a 74.30 stroke average. Breen captured medalist honors at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate in the fall with rounds of 74-71--145 and finished in the top 10 in all five fall tournaments. Her 145 at the Lady Rebel is tied for the second-lowest two-round score in school history.

Kim Tudor, a freshman from Winter Garden, Fla., will compete in the fourth tournament of her Ole Miss career. In the fall, Tudor's best finish came at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate, where she shot a 78-80--158 to tie for 31st.

Freshman Lynn Ann Moretto of Greenwood Village, Colo., will see her first action of the year at UCF. Teresa Brown, a sophomore from Windermere, Fla. (78.23 stroke average), and Marci Kornegay, a sophomore from Savannah, Ga. (77.61 stroke average), will also travel with the team to the tournament.

The Lady Rebels completed the fall with four top five performances in five tournaments, including a first-place finish at the Lady Rebel Intercollegiate and a second-place finish at the Beacon Woods Invitational. Ole Miss recorded a team stroke average of 302.61 in the fall.

"We are very excited to get our spring season underway," Ole Miss head coach Keil Purdom said. "The girls really worked hard in the fall, and they are ready to pick up where they left off in the fall."
