Tyler Keenan, a former Rebel All-American and fourth-round pick by the Seattle Mariners, returns to Oxford for his first season as a Student Assistant Coach for Ole Miss Baseball in 2025.
Keenan was a three-year starter for the Rebels from 2018-2020, posting a career batting average of .306 over 139 games with 31 home runs, 137 RBI, and a career slugging percentage of .550. He was named a Collegiate Baseball All-American in 2020 and was a two-time Freshman All-American in 2018.
In 2020, Keenan was hitting a staggering .403 with seven home runs and 33 RBI through the first 17 games of the season when the global pandemic shut it down. He finished that shortened season as the top third baseman in the country according to D1Baseball, leading the SEC in slugging percentage, RBI, and total bases.
In 2019, Keenan started all 68 games for the Rebels, mostly at third base. He hit. 285 with 48 walks, 66 RBI, 15 home runs, and 128 total bases. He was named a finalist for the Ferriss Trophy and participated in the 2019 College Home Run Derby where he finished in second place.
As a freshman in 2018, Keenan started 50 games at third base and hit .301 with nine home runs, 38 RBI, and a slugging percentage of .520. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice and Player of the Week once by the conference office. At the end of the season, he was selected as a Freshman All-American by both Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game.
Keenan was drafted in the fourth round, 107th overall, by the Seattle Mariners in the 2020 MLB Draft. He played for two seasons in the Seattle organization working his way up to Double-A.
Keenan was born on February 27, 1999 and is from Clayton, North Carolina.
