Women’s Tennis Emily Welker Named CSC Academic All-District
5/13/2026 | Women's Tennis
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women's tennis Emily Welker has been recognized as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree, as the organization recently announced.
Welker joins 22 other SEC student-athletes in being recognized for their academic and athletic achievement. Welker will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom across all of NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
In addition to her prolific academic career as a public health major, Welker also made an impact on the court this past season. She became the 14th All-American in the program's history in 2025 during her senior season. This past Fall, she competed in the NCAA Singles Championships, where she was seeded 9-16 but finished in the Final Four.
Her play in the Fall gave rise to a season-high No. 6 rank in the ITA singles rankings for the spring season. Welker then remained in the top 20 nationally throughout the remainder of the season while compiling a 26-7 singles record, including eight wins against ranked opponents, highlighted by a victory against Arkansas' No. 23 Caroline Gomez Alonso.
In doubles, she competed in the NCAA Doubles Championships alongside her partner Andrea Nova, where the pair would finish in the Second Round of the tournament. Welker and Nova would stay paired up in the spring and become a vital piece for the Rebels, for the duo accumulated a 24-7 overall doubles record, including a season-high ranked win against Vanderbilt's No. 6 duo of Celia-Belle Mohr and Sophia Webster in the second round of the 2026 SEC Tournament.
Welker and Nova finished the season with an ITA Doubles Ranking of No. 6 on April 30, 2026. Her impact for Ole Miss was recognized by the Southeastern Conference as she was named to the 2025-26 All-SEC Second Team cap off an incredible season.
