4/26/2026 | Men's Golf
SEA ISLAND, Ga. – For the first time in 41 years, the No. 12 Ole Miss men's golf team has won the SEC Championship, as the Rebels defeated No. 3 Florida 4-1 in the match play finals.
The 2025-26 Rebels become the second team in program history to capture the SEC title, joining the storied 1984 squad led by head coach Ernest Ross.
Ole Miss comes out on top of a stellar SEC field that includes 11 of the top 25 and five of the top 10 teams in the latest rankings.
Tom Fischer has played out of his mind since the beginning of April and today was no different, earning a 5&4 leadoff win for the Rebels to start the finals. Fischer was 6-under on the day and closed out the match after sticking a wedge to four feet on 14.
On the week Fischer went 3-0 in match play to go along with a top 20 finish in stroke play.
After falling back early in his matchup, Collins Trolio would birdie holes seven through 10 to go up three. Back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 would clinch a point for the Rebels, as Trolio defeated Matthew Kress to make it a 2-0 match.
Clinching yesterday's semifinal win over No. 1 Auburn, Cameron Tankersley would come up clutch again against the Gators. Carding birdies on holes 10 and 11 would put Tankersley in the lead by one, taking advantage of a double bogey from Florida on the following hole to go up two.
His closing ability in match play was on display once again today, as Tankersley held off Parker Sands for a 1UP win, securing the third Ole Miss point and the title for the Rebels.
Tankersley and Trolio were also 3-0 in match play on the weekend.
Cohen Trolio's match ended tied through 15 holes. Daniel Tolf and Florida's Luke Poulter went 19 holes as their match also ended in a tie.
The Rebels finished with a tournament-best 70 birdies, led by Collins Trolio's 20. He ranked among the best individually in the field with an average of 2.73 on par-3 scoring and 3.69 on par-4 scoring.
Ole Miss will turn their attention to preparing for the NCAA Regionals, beginning on May 18.
