No. 9 Men’s Golf Off to Strong Start at Watersound Invitational

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla – The No. 9 Ole Miss men's golf team posted (270, -10) in their opening round of the spring and sit just one off the lead at the Watersound Invitational.
Freshman Daniel Tolf paced the Rebels with a new career-best 18-hole score of five-under in round one. Tolf was the lone Rebel to go bogey-free, carding two birdies on his front nine and three on the back. He sits in second heading into Tuesday's second round.
Cohen Trolio is one behind Tolf at four-under, tied for third. The round of 66 marked his third time scoring in the 60s this season.
After starting three-over through eight, Cameron Tankersley battled back to shoot one-under 69 in his opening round. After the trio of bogeys, Tankersley reset and rattled off four birdies over the next seven holes to finish the day in red numbers for a team best ninth time this year.
Collins Trolio was steady in his third start this season posting even par 70. Tom Fischer shot one-over 71 and Finn Meister who is competing in the individual slot posted three-over 73.
Ole Miss led the field in par 3 scoring on the day.
The Rebels will begin round two at 10 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
