RALLY POINTS
  • Ole Miss returns home to the friendly confines of the Gillom Athletics Performance Center. welcoming Georgia in a key SEC showdown.
  • The Rebels enter a key stretch of eight matches, with seven against unranked opponents with similar RPI's, six of which are at home.
  • Melia Johnson has been a critical part of the Rebels success in SEC play, hitting .269 with a team-high 53 kills over five SEC matches thus far.
  • Head coach Bre Henry is 13-9 all-time against unranked SEC opponents at home in her career.
  • The Rebels have developed an early tendency to finish strong. Ole Miss is a combined 13-19 in all first and second sets, but 17-13 in sets three through five.
  • Libero Cameron Bradley continues to lead the SEC in digs per set at 4.93. Despite injuries marring a pair of matches, Bradley ranks 11th nationally in the metric.
  • Ole Miss is 7-0 when recording at least seven service aces, compared to 1-8 across all others.
  • The Rebels avoided the talented block of No. 4 Kentucky on Sunday, conceding only three total blocks against, good for Kentucky's lowest total this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Despite a large all-time series lead for the Georgia Bulldogs, who hold a 52-24 lead, it's the Rebels who come in as the latest winners, earning the program's first sweep in Athens since 2008 last season. Shayla Meyer was excellent in the win over the Bulldogs in 2025, tallying 14 kills on .303 hitting, as the Rebels hit .289 as a unit in the victory. In a scheduling quirk, the Bulldogs are only making a return to Oxford for the first time since 2021.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite a furious rally attempt and a brilliant outing from Melia Johnson, the Ole Miss Rebels came up just short at No. 4 Kentucky, falling 3-1, on Sunday afternoon in Lexington. Johnson was stellar, leading all hitters on the floor with 17 kills on .333 hitting to power the Rebel offense. Bella Bonanno stepped into the starting libero role and shined, tallying a career-high 17 digs, while Keirstyn Carlton finished with five blocks. However, eight blocking errors played a key role in the loss, as the Wildcats managed to hold off the valiant effort from the Rebels.

CAM CAN
Ole Miss libero Cameron Bradley had a season debut to remember, tallying an NCAA leading 78 digs over the first three matches of the season on her way to SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Bradley bested her previous career-high in digs in all three matches, headlined by a 30-dig performance in the finale against LMU.

Since that time, Bradley has gotten off to a sensational start to what has been a breakout campaign. Despite missing two matches, Bradley ranks third in the SEC in total digs at 266, while the Austin, Texas native also leads the SEC and ranks 11th in the nation in digs per set with 4.93.

Bradley is in her first season as the starting libero following the graduation of all-time digs leader Cammy Niesen and has seamlessly stepped into the rotation. Bradley has also shined at the service line with 14 service aces this season.

TIME TO CROOK
The Rebels made a big splash in the transfer portal entering this season, adding UAB opposite Jorda Crook to the program. A native of Ohatchee, Ala., Crook made her mark in three seasons as a Blazer, earning two All-AAC First Team honors and taking home five AAC Player of the Week awards, becoming the first UAB volleyball player to ever accomplish the feat.

Crook follows a growing path of impact transfers into the program. Head coach Bre Henry and her staff have developed 400-kill hitters in back-to-back seasons, with Crook entering the fold on the heels of 394 kills as a junior at UAB.

Crook is off to a huge start to her Ole Miss tenure, tallying a team-high 191 kills, while also leading the team with 53.0 blocks and 18 service aces.

Crook made personal history against Missouri reaching 1,000 kills in her decorated career and doing so in just 86 matches.

THE ROAD TO 1K
After senior opposite Jorda Crook earned her 1,000th collegiate kill in a home victory over Missouri on October 2, the Rebels have their eyes on more big milestones ahead of the meat of the SEC schedule.

Shayla Meyer is seeking to join Crook at 1,000 kills, standing at 901 in her collegiate career. The fifth year is unique in all have come as a Rebel and reaching the milestone would put Meyer into the top-10 all-time in the rally scoring era at Ole Miss. Setter Vivianna Samaniego is also chasing a personal milestone, standing 146 assists away from 1,000 assists.

CLIMBING THE LADDER
Shayla Meyer enters her final collegiate season with eyes on the record books. After multiple service aces at No. 4 Kentucky, Meyer moved into a tie for third place in the rally scoring era in service aces and now has 86 in her career. Meyer is seeking to become the eighth Rebel to ever reach 100 service aces.

Her 32 aces in 2025 marked Meyer's second straight season with 30 or more service aces. A third-consecutive 30-ace season would be enough to allow Meyer to become just the second Rebel in the rally scoring era to tally 100 or more service aces and put pressure on becoming the all-time leader in the era.

Additionally, Meyer also has eyes on several longer-term milestones, including 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Meyer currently sits at 901 kills and 737 digs in her standout Rebel tenure.

SCOUTING GEORGIA
It has been a very strong start to conference play for the Georgia Bulldogs, as head coach Tom Black has the Bulldogs at the top of the SEC as one of three programs with only one loss in conference play. Guiding that success has been Bianna Muoneke, who is the catalyst of the Georgia offense. Muoneke has accounted for nearly 40 percent of the Bulldogs kills in 2026, averaging 4.85 per set on .299 hitting. Much will be determined by the health of freshman Gigi Artiles, who has missed that last two matches but is the second leading scorer on the team at 2.73 kills per set.

Blocking remains a major strength of the Bulldogs defense, as graduate student Kendal Kemp leads the way at 72.0 total blocks this season. Behind that blocking has been largely by committee, with Muoneke and setter Chloe Elarton leading the way at over 120 digs apiece to lead the team.
