Men’s Golf Duo Tabbed Golfweek Preseason All-Americans
8/28/2025 | Men's Golf
OXFORD, Miss. – The men's golf duo of Michael La Sasso and Cameron Tankersley were recognized by Golfweek as preseason All-Americans, the publication announced Thursday. La Sasso was tabbed preseason First Team and Tankersley was selected preseason Third Team.
The pair helped Ole Miss reach new heights in 2024-25 and look to lead the Rebels back to the NCAA Championship where they finished as semifinalists a season ago.
La Sasso enters his senior season after capturing the 2025 NCAA Individual National Championship. The 2025 PING and Golfweek First Team All-American set the lowest scoring average in a single season in program history at 69.48. He tallied the third most rounds under par in a single season at 25. His 30 rounds of par or better and 20 rounds in the 60s marked the second most in a single season by a Rebel.
La Sasso spent the 2025 summer on the PGA TOUR competing in the Rocket Classic, the John Deere Classic, the Barracuda Championship and the 3M Open. He is set to represent Team USA in the 50th Walker Cup, September 6-7, at the Cypress Point Club, in Pebble Beach, California.
Cameron Tankersley enters his senior season after earning PING All-Region Southeast Team honors in 2024-25. He tallied 23 rounds of par or better and 18 rounds in red figures. Tankersley finished second on the team with seven top 20 finishes and six top 10s. The Dickson, Tennessee native also qualified and competed in the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont.
Ole Miss begins its season September 5, at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee.
