Track & Field Ready for National Stage at 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships
3/13/2025 | Track and Field
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Ole Miss track & field will have four total entries on the biggest stage of the collegiate indoor season at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held this weekend at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on March 14-15.
To qualify for the national meet, student-athletes needed to finish within the top-16 of their individual events or top-12 as a relay by the end of the regular season. Those 16 in each event will be competing not only for team or individual national championships, but also to grasp one of the coveted top-eight scoring spots for First-Team All-American status. Places nine-through-16 receive Second-Team distinction.
The Rebel men rank No. 16 in the Week Seven USTFCCCA National Rating Index released on Tuesday, wrapping their first wire-to-wire ranked indoor season since 2013. Ole Miss rose as high as No. 10 in the Week Two rankings on Feb. 4 and only fell as low as No. 18 in the Week Six edition on March 4. This final ranking of the indoor season only uses entries to the national meet as a basis in its calculation.
Representing Ole Miss in Virginia Beach this weekend will be: junior and reigning NCAA Indoor and Outdoor shot put champion Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan in both the men's shot put and the weight throw; junior and SEC silver medalist Arvesta Troupe in the men's high jump; and sophomore Akaoma Odeluga in the women's shot put.
ESPN+ will carry the action both days across both men's and women's sessions, with a dedicated field event stream that will begin in the mornings and run throughout the day. The track event windows for both the men's and women's sessions will also carry their own dedicated broadcast.
Read below for more details on how to follow along, Ole Miss' history at the indoor national meet, and full profiles of all three Rebel qualifiers.

Team Superlatives
• Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan is looking to become the first repeat champion in the men's shot put indoors since Arizona State's Turner Washington in 2021 and 2022, and a successful defense would make him one of 14 to do so in Division I history.
• A win in the shot put for Robinson-O'Hagan would mark his third in a row alongside his first win indoors in 2024 and his follow-up outdoors for the 2024 season sweep. Such a three-peat would make Robinson-O'Hagan one of 11 in collegiate history to do so.
• Only second repeat qualifier in both the men's shot put and weight throw; third-ever double, all by Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan (2023, '24, '25); one of three this year attempting the men's shot/weight double (Texas Tanner, Air Force; Joseph White, Wisconsin).
• A win in both the men's shot put and weight throw by Robinson-O'Hagan would be the first by the same athlete since North Dakota State's Payton Otterdahl in 2019, and would mark only the third occurrence in collegiate history alongside Otterdahl and Ohio State's Dan Taylor in 2004. Schools to sweep regardless of the athlete include North Dakota State (2019), Arizona State (2009), Ohio State (2004), SMU (1981, 1983, 2000) and UTEP (1975).
• A win in both the men's and women's shot puts would be the first by the same school since Arizona State in 2022 (Jorinde Van Klinken, Turner Washington), and would be just the fifth-such instance alongside that Arizona State sweep in 2022 and a trio by UCLA in 1991 (Tracie Mullett, Eric Bergreen), 1995 (Dawn Dumble, John Godina) and 1996 (Valeyta Althouse, Jonathan Ogden).
• Arvesta Troupe is the first Rebel men's athlete to qualify in the high jump indoors since Allen Gordon in 2021.
• Akaoma Odeluga gives Ole Miss its fourth consecutive NCAA appearance in the women's shot put indoors, as well as its sixth in the last eight national indoor meets (outside the cancelled 2020 edition).
Individual Superlatives
• Akaoma Odeluga: Second career NCAA qualifying berth, first indoors.
• Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan: Ninth and 10th career NCAA qualifying berths, fifth and sixth indoors ... Only Rebel to ever double in the shot and weight, has done so now three times (2023, '24, '25) ... One of three nationally this year attempting the shot/weight double.
