2/28/2025 | Track and Field

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan claimed his second consecutive SEC weight throw title today, winning on a career-best and SEC meet record heave of 24.35m/79-10.75.

Robinson-O'Hagan dominated the competition from the first round, with all three of his legal marks surpassing 23 meters and besting second-place finisher Ruben Banks of Alabama by more than four feet. That winning heave by Robinson-O'Hagan in the third round not only broke the SEC meet record, but it ranks No. 2 in SEC history, No. 12 in collegiate history, and is the third time he has reset his own school record this season alone.

Ole Miss went 5-for-5 on personal bests in the weight throw and was able to nab a whopping 17 total points. Junior Bryson Smith took fifth on a career-best 22.06m/72-04.50 – becoming the second Rebel to ever break 22 meters – while fellow junior Mason Hickel was sixth at a PR of 21.87m/71-9 to become the third 70-footer in Ole Miss history.

Senior Costen Campion was 11th at a career-best 20.89m/68-06.50, with fellow senior Jake Dalton 13th at 20.53m/67-04.25. In addition to Robinson-O'Hagan's new program record, Smith improved upon his spot at No. 2 in Ole Miss history, Hickel No. 3, Campion moved up to fifth and Dalton up to No. 8.
