Track & Field Wraps Regular Season with Fast Finale at LSU Invite

5/2/2026 | Track and Field

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss track & field wrapped up its regular season in strong fashion, highlighted by a pair of dazzling times on the track, at the LSU Invite on Saturday.

All-American senior Alicia Burnett – fresh off an indoor season that saw her become the first Rebel to ever win the SEC women's 60-meter title – put herself right into contention again following her first 100-meter dash as a Rebel. Burnett crossed the line in second place at a slightly windy but still blazing 10.94 (+3.7), putting her alongside Olympian and three-time NCAA Champion McKenzie Long as the lone Rebel women to ever break 11 seconds in any conditions.

All-time, that ranks Burnett second behind Long on Ole Miss' all-time list (which accepts up to the NCAA qualifying allowable 4.0 meters per second wind reading). This season, that ranks Burnett fourth in the NCAA and third in the SEC.

Burnett was also the anchor on today's winning 4x100-meter relay alongside Zion Lockette, Patchnalie Compere and Royanah Farmer that won with a time of 44.10.

In the men's 200-meter, star sophomore Jordan Urrutia had an equally superb outing. Urrutia was the victor at a slightly windy all-conditions PR of 20.31 (+2.7), good for No. 2 all-time at Ole Miss behind Isiah Young's 20.12 (+3.2) from the 2013 NCAA semis.

Urrutia nearly ran just as fast his last time out at the Virginia Challenge at 20.37, but the wind reading was at an illegal +4.3 meters per second. This season, Urrutia now ranks fourth nationally and second in the SEC.

Fellow sophomore Wesley Todd had a career day as well, finishing sixth at an all-conditions PR 20.82 (+2.6) – which ties him for 10th all-time at Ole Miss outdoors. Tarique Wright was 11th also at a PR time of 21.16 (+2.6).

All-American throwers Akaoma Odeluga and Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan won two titles apiece on Saturday, their final tuneups before the conference meet in two weeks.

Odeluga began the morning with a season-best in the hammer, winning on a toss of 64.92m/213-0 (NCAA No. 18). Odeluga then went on to win the shot put at 17.93m/58-10 before launching an eight-foot PR in the discus, finishing as the runner-up at 52.00m/170-7.

Robinson-O'Hagan, meanwhile, wrapped a perfect outdoor season with two more wins in the hammer (73.00m/239-6) and shot (20.53m/67-04.25). Robinson-O'Hagan has not lost in the regular season outdoors in the shot put since April of 2024, and in the hammer that stretches back to his freshman season at the 2023 Joe Walker Invite.

Other notable performances on Saturday came from: Gabe Scales in the men's 1500-meter (first, 3:41.67; SB); Mary Cate Doughty in the women's pole vault (first, 4.15m/13-07.25); Indya Dotson in the women's long jump (third, 6.16m/20-02.50; No. 11 all-time); and Hannah Doyle in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase (seventh, 10:49.51; No. 15 all-time).

Ole Miss track & field will have next week off to prepare for the upcoming 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships, held this year at Auburn from May 14-16.
