Men’s Tennis Wraps Up at the Battle on the Plains with Two Top Three Finishes

AUBURN, Ala. – Men's tennis finished the Battle on the Plains Tournament with both of its mini dual teams finishing in the top three and with a combined 17-7 record to finish the weekend.
In the Blue Draw Bracket Final, the Rebels' duo of sophomores Loan Lestir and Matthieu Chambonniere took on Clemson's duo of Matisse Farzam and Marko Mesarovic.
The mini dual began with a doubles match between the pairs, which Lestir and Chambonniere defeated Farzam and Mesarovic, 6-4, to secure the advantage heading into singles play.
However, the pair of Rebels dropped their singles matches and finished second in the Blue Draw Bracket.
The other Rebel duo, Isac Strömberg and Kai Milburn, finished third in the Blue Draw Bracket. The No. 89 doubles pair defeated The University of Troy's pairing of Yeray Andres Pastor and Luciano Alcocer, 6-4, in doubles play.
With the advantage in the mini dual, heading into singles play, Strömberg defeated Pastor, 7-5, 6-1.
The Rebels will continue their 2025 Fall campaign on Oct. 9, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the ITA Southern Regionals.
