Men’s Tennis Earns Gutsy Win Over Virginia Tech at SEC-ACC Challenge

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis wins another close competition in the SEC-ACC Challenge, taking down Virginia Tech, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon.
The Rebels would begin Saturday with two doubles matches. Noah Schlagenhauf and Loan Lestir faced Drew Fishback and Patrik Jurina, winning the match in the tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4).
Ole Miss would continue to find success in doubles as Benjamin Martin and Gordon Whitwell would play Blake Hilsen and Eyal Shumilov, securing the 6-4 victory.
Following their doubles victories, the Rebels would move on to singles. Lestir took down Jurina once again, 6-3, 6-2.
With the Rebels and Hokies tied 3-3, after Virginia Tech took three singles victories, the winner would be decided by a ten-point doubles tiebreaker. Schlagenhauf and Lestir would represent the Rebels for the tiebreaker, securing the 4-3 victory for the Rebels, 10-8.
The Rebels will continue their play at the SEC-ACC Challenge on Sunday, playing an Ivy League foe in Columbia
