Men’s Tennis Defeats Florida State to Open SEC-ACC Challenge

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis earned a 4-3 decision in a modified dual matchup against Florida State to begin the SEC-ACC Challenge on Friday.
Ole Miss began their morning with doubles against the Seminoles, as Noah Schlagenhauf and Loan Lestir faced off against Justin Lyons and Azariah Rusher, winning the match, 6-2.
In singles, Lestir played Lyons, picking up the quick victory, 6-1, 6-0. Benjamin Martin faced Ezerzer in singles, dropping the first set, but storming back to take the match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
With the first six matches split 3-3, as Florida State earned three victories over Ole Miss, a ten-point tiebreaker ensued to solidify the winner. In a rematch against Lyons and Rusher, Schlagenhauf and Lestir secured the final 4-3 decision after defeating the Seminoles, 10-5.
The Rebels will continue their play at the SEC-ACC Challenge tomorrow, facing another ACC Quartet in Virginia Tech on Saturday.
