Rifle Drops Match to No. 5 Georgia Southern

STATESBORO, Ga. – On Saturday, the Ole Miss rifle fell short against No. 5 Georgia Southern, 4710-4701.
 
Ole Miss (6-4, 2-2 GARC) finished with two shooters in the top-five in aggregate scoring. Regan Diamond and Emma Pereira tied for second place with an 1178. Martina Gratz continues to improve her scores each match, notching a season-high 1172 for seventh place.
 
The Rebels scored a better smallbore score than their last two matches, firing a 2335. Pereira scorched a career-high 591 after going perfect in prone. The sophomore shot the best score of all competitors in the match. Diamond also landed in the top-five, hitting a 585, putting her in fourth place.
 
Ole Miss grabbed the top two scores in air rifle and outshot Georgia Southern (), 2366-2364. Gratz finished as the leading air rifle shooter with a 595. Diamond followed closely behind, shooting a 593. In sixth, Kristen Derting also hit above 590 with a 591.
 
Ole Miss hosts Memphis for Senior Day on Thursday, February 8, starting at 8 a.m. CT. The Rebels will then travel to Akron on Saturday.
