Women’s Tennis to Compete at ITA Southern Regionals

10/9/2024 | Women's Tennis

AUBURN, Ala.– Ole Miss women's tennis is set to travel to Auburn, Ala., for the ITA Southern Regional from Oct. 10 through Oct. 15.

Hosted at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, the event will feature a singles and doubles tournament containing brackets. All six Rebels headed to compete will start on the second day, Oct. 11, for the doubles and singles main draw.

The Rebels found success in last seasons' regional, sending six to the quarterfinals within singles and doubles. Senior Ludmila Kareisová advanced to the singles quarterfinals and is looking to continue her undefeated streak in singles for her 2024 campaign. She and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher each reached the quarterfinal round in singles and doubles at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in September.

Brooklyn Olson will make her collegiate debut as a true freshman. The freshman was ranked as high as No. 704 in the ITF singles ranking and the No. 26 recruit in the nation with a World Tennis Number of 16.6 in both singles and doubles.

Leclercq-Ficher, Rachel Krzyzak, Emma Kette and Lucie Petruzelova are also set to compete this weekend. Krzyzak is coming off a successful outing at the Wahoowa Invitational last weekend, going 2-1 in singles and doubles.

The Rebels' added Petruzelova from Charlotte through the transfer portal. Petruzelova spent three seasons at Charlotte and earned a combined 66-25 singles record and 58-42 doubles record. She ranks No. 8 in Charlotte's record book in career singles wins. In her Junior campaign, Petruzelova led the team with 26 singles wins.

FRESHMAN PHENOM
A Blue Chip five star recruit out of Kansas City, Kan., Olson will start her collegiate career as a Rebel this season. She was ranked as high as No. 704 in ITF singles, and the No. 26 recruit in the nation.

FALL SLATE
