NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ole Miss women's tennis wrapped its time in Nashville at the June Stewart Invitational with a pair of singles wins on Sunday.
Andrea Nova and Brooklyn Olson earned three combined singles wins while at the tournament.
Nova notched her first two individual wins of her sophomore season over the weekend. After a hard-hitting matchup on day two, Nova dropped set one to come back in the second. A super tiebreak to ten determined the game, and the sophomore reigned supreme defeating Vanderbilt's Amy Stevens 1-6, 6-3, 10-3.
On Sunday, Nova went toe-to-toe with Vanderbilt's Sonya Macavei. After another tight match leading to a super tiebreak, Nova earned her second consecutive singles win with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 final score. Nova went 2-1 overall at the tournament.
Olson earned her first collegiate win in singles on Sunday against Vanderbilt's Sophia Webster. The freshmen foes battled to the third super tiebreak of the tournament for the Rebels, with Olson ultimately claiming a 7-5, 2-6, 11-9 victory.
The Rebels competed against Northwestern and Lipscomb in singles on the first day of competition, ultimately falling short in their respective matches on Friday.
As a pair, Nova and Olson put up three close matches in doubles on the weekend, but fell short in each. The duo forced a tiebreak against Northwestern's Kiley Rabjohns and Neena Feldman, but fell short, 7-5.
Ole Miss is back in action next weekend, as it prepares to conclude the fall season at the Roberta Alison Invitational. Last season, the Rebels picked up six combined wins in singles.
