Rebels Take Part in Special Graduation

OXFORD, Miss. -- Monday was a special day for several outstanding student-athletes who impressed Rebel Nation on and off the field for four years, as they received their degrees in a special graduation ceremony at the Manning Center.

Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics, Ross Bjork, spoke to the graduates, as did Vice Chancellor Noel Wilkin while representatives from each school presented the student-athletes their diplomas.

Members of the newly minted 2017 SEC Softball Championship team Raven Campos, Dakota Matiko, Miranda Strother and Courtney Syrett received their degrees as they were clinching the programs first-ever SEC Championship on Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Kailo Moore from the Ole Miss football team was participating in mini-camp with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.

The Ole Miss track and field team, which was competing at the SEC Track and Field Championships, in Columbia, SC had 13 members earn their degrees including H. Boyd McWhorter nominee and two-time 1500 meter SEC champion, Craig Engels and 2017 SEC steeplechase and 5000 meter champion, MJ Erb.

The Rebels will host another special graduation on Friday, May 19 for the men's golf team graduating seniors, Noah West and Ben Wolcott, who are participating at the NCAA Men's Golf Austin Regional.
