OXFORD, Miss. â€" Ole Miss women's tennis enjoyed a historic season on the courts, while maintaining their academic prowess.

For the 22nd consecutive year, the Rebels earned the prestigious ITA All-Academic Team Award, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the yearly academic honors Tuesday. In addition, NCAA Champion Arianne Hartono, Tea Jandric and Tereza Janatova earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status.

The Rebels posted a 3.40 grade point average and were one of eight teams to finish inside the top 10 and earn the ITA All-Academic Team Award. They rank second for consecutive appearances on the list.

"Great accomplishment by the ladies in the classroom yet again," head coach Mark Beyers said. Year after year they are able to excel both on the court as well as in the classroom. Hats off to our amazing academic staff who are always there for the ladies."

With the men also earning the award, Ole Miss is one of eight schools in the nation to have both its tennis teams finish ranked in the top 25 and receive the ITA All-Academic Team Award.

To be eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team Award, teams must register a 3.20 cumulative team GPA for the 2017-18 academic year.

Individually, Hartono is now a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. She finished the year with a perfect 4.00 GPA while becoming the first SEC Player of the Year and NCAA Champion in program history.

Janatova earned the honor for the second time in her career. Jandric picked up the honor for the third time to go along with All-SEC honors.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must have a grade point average of at least a 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

The Rebels reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the ninth time and finished the year ranked No. 8, their highest final ranking since 1999.
