Recap

Ole Miss vs South Carolina
HEAD COACH Matt Insell

On the toughness...
"We battled. South Carolina is probably the best team I have ever played against in terms of how big and physical they are. They just physically beat you. It is just who South Carolina is. That team is tough. They are a good basketball team. Our toughness was there. We went 8 for 22 from the line and that really made the difference in the game. We just have to step up in that aspect. But, we are a tough team and we are young. We need to keep grinding it out. When you get an open look, you have to make those shots. But, I am proud of our effort. South Carolina is the number one defensive team in the country and our kids battled."

On shooting 40% against South Carolina...
"We had a 9 point lead, then Tia Faleru got her third foul. I made a decision as a coach that Tia needed to learn how to play with three fouls so I left her in the game. We just spread the floor and we executed. We got some tough shots. It is tough to score against South Carolina. They are big and they are physical. Our team kept battling. I am proud of our effort. We need to carry this same effort into Vanderbilt. We have a lot of basketball left to play. We have gotten through one big stretch, now we have to go on the road and play. We have a lot of games and a lot of possible wins left in the season. We just need to get out there and play Ole Miss basketball."
