HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Ole Miss women's basketball team fell in double overtime, 64-57, to the University of Hawai`i Saturday night in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Classic.

With the loss, Ole Miss fell to 4-2 overall while Hawai`i improved to 4-1.

With the Rebels up three, Keshia Kanekoa tried a long two with 20 seconds left in regulation and Melson came up with the board and was fouled. On the inbounds pass Hawai`i forced a jump ball and gained possession. Hawai`i tried a three but was shot and Ole Miss gained possession.

Melson appeared to be fouled and lost the ball out of bounds but a turnover was called and Hawai`i got the ball out of bounds and Kanekoa hit a three with 6.2 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

In overtime, Hope scored for the Rebels with 33 seconds left to put Ole Miss up 57-55. With 13 seconds left Kanekoa was fouled and missed both of her free throws. LaTosha Laws grabbed the board and was fouled but missed the front end of a one-and-one. On the rebound Ole Miss fouled and Kanekoa was sent back to the line with seven seconds and hit them both to tie the game at 57-57 and send the game into double overtime.

Hawai`i came out in the second overtime and held Ole Miss scoreless and posted the 64-57 win.

Courtney Marbra posted her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Pa'Sonna Hope ended the game with 12 and nine boards while Valencia McFarland scored 11 and added seven assists.

Hawai`i opened the game hot from three-point range hitting six of their first seven attempts to take a 21-10 lead with 10:24 to play in the half.

After Hawai`i pushed its lead to 13 points, Ole Miss used a 13-3 run capped by a jumper from Courtney Marbra to cut the Rainbow Wahine's lead to three, 28-25, with 4:13 to play.

The Rebels cut the lead to two on a jumper from Pa'Sonna Hope but the Rainbow Wahine went on a 5-0 run to end the half and take a 36-29 lead.

Marbra and Hope led the Ole Miss at the half with eight points each while Marbra also set a career-high with eight boards. The Rebels shot 36.7 percent from the floor in the first half (11-of-30) while the Rainbow Wahine shot 44.8 percent (13-of-29).

Ole Miss took its first lead of the game, 41-40, on a free throw by Nikki Byrd with 14:15 remaining in the second half. Valencia McFarland's three put the Rebels up 44-42 with 11:43 left.

Shae Nelson's three put Ole Miss up by five, 53-48, with 4:55 left in the second half. Byrd gave Ole Miss a six-point lead, 55-49, with 2:49 to play. Hawai`i cut the lead to three, 55-52, with just over a minute to play.

Ole Miss will play Illinois tomorrow at 7:45 p.m. CT in consolation game.
