Brett Ball will begin her second season on the Ole Miss women’s basketball staff as a graduate manager for the 2016-17 season. Ball, a Mississippi native, joins the Ole Miss family after spending four years at South Carolina as a part of the women’s basketball program.
Ball, who was declared medically ineligible during her freshman year at South Carolina with a congenital heart condition, but served as the team’s embedded reporter documenting the behind-the-scenes aspects of the nationally prominent women’s basketball program throughout her collegiate career.
The Jackson, Miss., native played four years for Coach Jan Sojourner's Raiders at Jackson Academy and helped the team to a 27-7 record that included district and state titles as a senior. She also earned a spot on the MAIS North AA-AAA All-Star roster and was a first-team All-MAIS selection her final season and was named top offensive and defensive player on her team. Ball also lettered in track and field.
Ball comes from a basketball family as her aunt is former Olympian and Auburn standout, Ruthie Bolton and her other aunt, Ola Mae also played collegiately at Auburn. She was also a former youth camper at the Ole Miss women’s basketball camps.
