Women’s Basketball is Back, Completes First Official Practice of 2026-27 Season!

OXFORD, Miss. – Prior to hitting the court for the first official practice of the 2026-27 season, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, fifth-year guard Talaysia Cooper and junior guard Jada Richard met with the media at the SJB Pavilion.
In her first remarks since the summer, McPhee-McCuin expressed her excitement for Team 52 and boasted about the Rebels’ talent and depth. She expressed that she looks forward to how the team will develop throughout training camp and beyond into the season.
Cooper and Richard transferred from Tennessee and LSU, respectively, each bringing a wealth of SEC experience to the young Rebel team. The duo each talked about how the key to a successful season is that everyone is bought in, and how Team 52 is already ahead of schedule chemistry-wise.
Ole Miss will open the 2026-27 season inside the SJB Pavilion on Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. CT against Alcorn State for its annual Kids Day matchup.
