Men’s Golf Introduces Five Newcomers to the 2026-27 Roster

OXFORD, Miss. – After claiming their first SEC Championship in 41 years and graduating All-Americans Cameron Tankersley and Tom Fischer, the Ole Miss men's golf team enters the 2026-27 season with a revamped roster, reloading with three transfers and two freshmen.
With a proven core of Collins Trolio, Daniel Tolf, Finn Meister, and Jacob Blanton returning, the Rebels will build on a strong foundation heading into the new season. The addition of a talented group of newcomers will be key as Ole Miss looks to defend its SEC Championship and make a deep postseason run.
TRANSFERS
Cooper Claycomb arrives in Oxford ranked No. 120 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) after spending three seasons at Louisville. During that time, Claycomb saw PING All-Region Honors twice, was named to the All-ACC Academic team and was a Cobalt All-American scholar. Claycomb put together six Top five, two Top 10, and nine Top 20 finishes in his collegiate career and held a stroke average of 72.18 over 34 rounds. He also tallied 18 rounds in the 60s and collected 49 rounds of par or better in his career.
Per Ekelund brings championship experience to the Rebels' roster after spending three seasons at West Florida, where he helped lead the Argonauts to the 2025 Division II National Championship and three GSC Conference Championships. As a freshman, Ekelund also captured the 2024 GSC Men's Individual Championship. Ranked as high as No.15 nationally in Division II and was named a two time All-American, Ekelund recorded three tournament victories and posted nine Top five, three Top 10 and eight Top 20 finishes throughout his collegiate career. He finished with a 70.90 stroke average across 99 rounds, carding 52 rounds of par or better and 21 rounds in the 60s.
Eduardo Matarazzo joins the Rebels after a standout freshman season at Barry University, where he made an immediate impact being named Sunshine State Freshman of the Year and being ranked No.11 nationally in Division II. Matarazzo posted a stroke average of 70.80 over 27 rounds and carded 14 rounds of par or better and seven rounds in the 60s. He also recorded three Top five, and two Top 10 finishes during his freshman campaign.
FRESHMAN
Incoming freshman Tomas Restrepo arrives at Ole Miss ranked No.144 in the WAGR rankings, bringing an impressive resume that includes nine tournament victories and 19 Top five finishes. Among his most notable accomplishments, Restrepo won the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan in back-to-back years, establishing himself as one of Colombia's top young talents. A native of Manizales, Colombia, Restrepo was also named Colombia's Youth Athlete of the Year for 2025 by El Espectador and Movistar.
Xander Mulder, a freshman from Scottsdale, Arizona, joins Ole Miss following a standout high school career at Notre Dame Preparatory Academy. As a key member of the golf team, Mulder helped lead the Saints to back-to-back state championships. He joins the Rebels ranked as the No. 202 golfer in the American Junior Golf Rankings after posting three Top 10 finishes in AJGA events and four Top 25 finishes in JGAA competition.
