Track & Field’s Alicia Burnett Finishes Fourth in NCAA 100-Meter Final
6/13/2026 | Track and Field
EUGENE, Ore. – Ole Miss women's track & field senior Alicia Burnett wrapped her lone but impactful season in a Rebel uniform with a high finish in the national 100-meter final, taking fourth place to conclude competition for the Rebels at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field on Saturday.
Burnett crossed the line in 11.05 with a 0.0 reading on the wind gauge, finishing fourth and putting the Rebel women on the board with five meet points. Burnett is the third Rebel woman to score in the 100-meter, and her fourth-place showing ranks second-best in Ole Miss women's history, trailing only McKenzie Long's 2024 national title.
Today's race wraps an excellent 2026 campaign for Burnett, who transferred to Ole Miss from Missouri. With the Rebels, Burnett made history as the first SEC women's 60-meter champion, doing so with a school record time of 7.08. In total, Burnett wraps her collegiate career across both schools as a five-time All-American (two First-Team honors, both at Ole Miss) with 10 NCAA points, two SEC medals and 18.5 conference points scored.
Burnett's finish today put the Ole Miss women in a tie for 45th on the final team standings at her five points scored, putting a bow on the 2026 collegiate track & field season for both Rebel programs. The summer competition schedule lies ahead, first with the U.S. U20 Championships back at Hayward Field next week on June 18-19, and then with the USATF Outdoor Championships, held in New York this year on July 23-26.
