Track & Field’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Becomes Winningest Men’s Athlete in SEC History

AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss track & field star senior Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan etched his name among the greatest athletes to ever compete in the Southeastern Conference, becoming the all-time winningest men's athlete in SEC history following his 13th career championship crown on Friday night at Day Two of the 2026 SEC Outdoor Championships.
His 13th and final SEC title came with little drama, as Robinson-O'Hagan took the lead in the second round at 20.56m/67-05.50 – with no other competitor even coming within 2.5 feet of the remainder of his throws on the day, let alone his winning fourth-round toss of 20.80m/68-3.
Since beginning his Ole Miss career in 2023, Robinson-O'Hagan has been one of the nation's top dual-threat throwers as a four-time national champion and 14-time All-American, but the tale of the tape at the end of his SEC career is staggering.
Robinson-O'Hagan ends his SEC career with an unreal 144 points scored, finishing with a per-meet average of 18.0. That includes an even 72 points apiece across indoor and outdoor, as well as six consecutive SEC sweeps: indoors, the first three shot put/weight throw sweeps in conference history, and outdoors the first three-peat shot/hammer sweep all-time in the SEC. In his career, he has outscored an entire other SEC team eight total times either at an indoor or outdoor championship meet – and has a chance to again come meet's end tomorrow.
"I've always wanted to be in this moment, and be the best in my conference, be the best in [Division I]," Robinson-O'Hagan told SEC Network's John Anderson following the shot put. "Me and my brother always dreamed of it, for it to happen in this league, in track and field, I'm happy about it. I'm very grateful for my coaches because they peaked me out, without them I'm nothing."
"I'm happy to be able to be the best, my coaches are the best," Robinson-O'Hagan continued. "No one's better, so of course I'm the best in the SEC. Who's gonna beat us?"
Not to be overshadowed, junior and fellow All-American Akaoma Odeluga had a significant day of her own earlier in the women's shot put, winning her first career SEC title after a tight competition. Odeluga led from her first legal throw in the second round, but her eventual winning throw of 18.25m/59-10.50 stood a tough test by the Georgia duo of Nina Ndubuisi (18.15m/59-06.75) and Kelsie Murrell-Ross (18.02m/59-01.50).
The Ole Miss shot put sweep by Odeluga and Robinson-O'Hagan is the first in the SEC outdoors since 1998, when South Carolina's Crystal Brownlee and Brad Snyder capped off the Gamecocks' third straight sweep of the event. In conference history, this is now the eighth sweep all-time.
Senior Logan Kelley is among the best pole vaulters ever in Ole Miss' storied history in the event, but has come heartbreakingly short of scoring at the conference meet throughout his Rebel career. On Friday, though, Kelley notched his first scoring effort following a career day. Kelley finished tied for seventh at an outdoor PR height of 5.40m/17-08.50, which ties him for fourth all-time at Ole Miss outdoors and improves his standing on the NCAA East Region list heading into the regional meet in two weeks.
On the track, Ole Miss received two key qualifying performances – one each across the women's and men's 100-meter dashes.
All-American senior Alicia Burnett – fresh off an indoor season that saw her become the first women's 60-meter champion in Ole Miss history – punched her ticket with ease, winning the second heat for an auto-bid at a wind-legal season-best 11.23 (+0.6).

In the men's 100-meter dash, junior Dekell Minor tied his overall PR and earned a time qualifier spot to Saturday's final, finishing second in his heat at 10.14 (+0.4) to improve on his spot at No. 6 all-time at Ole Miss.
