Track & Field’s Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Tabbed SEC Field Athlete of the Week

3/24/2026 | Track and Field

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss track & field All-American senior Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan has been named the SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week to start the 2026 outdoor campaign, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Robinson-O'Hagan had a historic weekend in Oxford at the Ole Miss Classic, taking home the top spots of the hammer throw and shot put. The 12-time All-American opened his final outdoor campaign by unleashing an eye-opening 77.62m/254-8 in the third round of the hammer to shatter both the facility and Ole Miss records.

His powerful throw ranks as the best all-time this early into the collegiate season (March 20), and it makes Robinson-O'Hagan the second-best American-born collegian. Overall, Robinson-O'Hagan now ranks second in SEC history, 11th in collegiate history and 16th in American history, and for 2026 he leads all Americans and ranks eighth worldwide.

Last week, Robinson-O'Hagan's hammer distance coupled with his 20.88m outdoor shot PR put him at 98.50m for the shot/hammer combination, making him the first collegian to surpass 98 meters.

His stellar weekend continued with Saturday's performance in the shot put, where he emerged victorious behind a 20.42m/67-0 hurl. His winning throw was nearly three meters ahead of the silver medalist for the event. Robinson-O'Hagan hasn't recorded an outdoor shot attempt below 20 meters since his freshman campaign at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Ole Miss track & field will take this week off before splitting squad for the Stanford Invite and LSU's Battle on the Bayou, both scheduled for April 3-4.
