FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Ole Miss rifle capped a successful weekend at the Patriot Rifle Conference Tournament with a second-place team finish in air rifle, leading to a silver medal in aggregate scoring Sunday morning.

Audrey Gogniat led the way for the Rebels by defending her conference title in the event, scoring a 251.8 in the medal round to beat out Alaska Fairbanks' Teagan Perkowski and TCU's Mikole Hogan. Gogniat fired her third career 600 in air rifle during the qualifying round to boost her aggregate score to 1193, earning second overall in the tournament behind TCU's Katie Zaun. She had an incredible 58 center shots, which ties her school record for most in a single outing ever.

Gogniat has recorded the eighth instance of a perfect score in Ole Miss history, and inches one accomplishment to Lea Horvath's school record four times. Her and teammate Gracie Dinh are the two Rebels to reach that feat this season, marking back-to-back years in which multiple Rebels have done so, the first time ever in program history.

As a team, Ole Miss fired a 2388 in air rifle, tying a school record in the discipline which has stood since the 2021-22 season. Behind Gogniat, Regan Diamond and Dinh shot for 597 and 596, respectively, the former of which is a career best for Diamond. Behind them, Jordan de Jesus rounded out the scoring with a 595 mark

With that mark, Ole Miss upped its aggregate to 4745, the third-highest score in program history behind two instances of 4746. Under first-year head coach Will Shaner, Ole Miss has put up the best air rifle score in program history, tied its aggregate record once (against Murray State in the spring opener), the best smallbore score ever (2368, also at Murray State), and the third highest aggregate score in program history.

Ole Miss finished second overall, falling just short of its first-ever conference title. Nebraska earned gold with a 4758 tally. Ole Miss tied with TCU in the aggregate scoring but earned silver by shooting five more center shots than the Horned Frogs.

Gogniat and Diamond opened the day's festivities in the first relay at 7 a.m. CT. The Rebel duo conquered the field, scoring 600 and 597, respectively. Diamond finished 13th overall in the event as her outing was the best in her career. She added 52 center shots to tie herself with Air Force' Lily Wytko. UTEP's Kameron Wells nearly had a perfect score of her own but finished one point shy after a 9.8 on the 58th shot.

Dinh, de Jesus and Susan Carter toed the line in the second relay. Dinh and de Jesus started strong, both entering the final 20 shots with 398 scores. The final third of the event saw both fade slightly, ultimately with Dinh earning a 596 and de Jesus with a 595. Carter, the fifth counter, shot well additionally, totaling a 591, one point shy of a season best for the sophomore.

With her score, Gogniat qualified for the medal round, which she dominated from start to finish. The Swedish sharpshooter built a lead to as big as 2.1 points, which she maintained until the final shot when facing Perkowski. She is Ole Miss' lone two-time conference champion in any event, and the only one in air rifle.

Ole Miss is back in Oxford to face Memphis on Feb. 14, and will face the Tigers again the following day on the road.
