Women’s Basketball Ranked in Pair of Preseason Polls

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s basketball continues to gain national recognition, as the Rebels were ranked in both preseason polls released on Tuesday. The AP had Ole Miss at No. 19, while USA TODAY/WBCA put the Rebels at No. 23.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Rebels have received preseason honors by both outlets. Additionally, it’s the fifth time in five seasons that Ole Miss has been ranked sometime during the season by either the AP or in the Coaches poll.

The SEC recently recognized Ole Miss in its preseason media poll, projecting the Rebels to finish seventh in the conference, while Talaysia Cooper was selected to the All-SEC second team.

Coming off another historic season under head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, the Rebels are primed to continue their success into the 2026-27 season. Ole Miss has brought in the top transfer portal class in the SEC for the second straight season, while also ranking third nationally, according to ESPN.

Fans will have the chance to catch the Rebels in action in their lone exhibition of the season, hosting Lane College at the SJB Pavilion on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. CT. Admission is free for all to attend. The full Ole Miss women’s basketball 2026-27 schedule can be found here.
