Men’s Tennis to Celebrate 100th Anniversary Throughout the 2025-26 Season

9/15/2025 | Men's Tennis

OXFORD, Miss. – Dating back to 1925, Ole Miss men's tennis has proven to have an illustrious history. Ole Miss athletics is set to honor the men who have shaped the program for the 100th Anniversary throughout the 2025-26 season.

"It is an honor to be the head coach here at Ole Miss in the 100th season in the history of the program," said head coach Jake Jacoby. "There is so much history in this program with some amazing players, coaches, and people who have left this place better than they found it. I'm very excited to make this 100th season edition a special one for these young men and this community."

Throughout the year, there will be promotional item giveaways at home matches. Make sure to be on the lookout for those dates on Twitter at @OleMissMTennis, Facebook at OleMissMTennis and on Instagram at OleMissMTennis, follow Coach Jacoby on Twitter at @jakejacoby00 and on Instagram at jakejacoby00.

Since joining the SEC, the program has tallied 681 wins, made 31 NCAA Tournaments and won five SEC titles. Individually, the Rebels have two NCAA individual champions, 53 All-Americans and 91 All-SEC honorees.

One of the most notable Rebels in program history is Nik Scholtz who is the only four-time All-American in program history and the 39th all-time in men's tennis NCAA Division I history. He led the Rebels to their 22nd consecutive NCAA appearance and also became the first Rebel to be named to the All-SEC First Team all four years.

The success of the program has been built on the foundation of countless student-athletes who have gone on to earn a degree from the University of Mississippi and take their talents around the world.

Mahesh Bhupathi, a former NCAA Doubles Champion at Ole Miss, has confirmed his place in tennis history. In 18 years on the tour, he was named a 12-time grand slam champion and captured 52 doubles titles. Bhupathi became the first player in the history of India to win an ATP Grand Slam title when he won the Mixed Doubles title at the French Open Championships in the summer of 1997.
