Women’s Tennis Caps Off Day Two of Blue Gray Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -  Following a perfect day, Ole Miss women's tennis' Riley Crowder and Emily Welker advance to the finals of the Blue Gray Classic's Gray Draw on Saturday.
 
Andrea Nova and Ichino Horikawa represented Ole Miss in the Blue Draw. As a pair , they defeated Georgia Tech's No. 62 duo Alejandra Cruz and Scarlett Nicholson, 8-5, to begin the day.  

After the doubles victory, the Yellow Jackets won the subsequent singles matches, with Cruz defeating Nova, 6-1, 6-1, and Nicholson defeating Horikawa, 6-4, 6-3. With the Rebels falling 1-2, they will take on Ava Esposito and Alice Battesti of Auburn on Sunday for their final match of the tournament to determine who will claim third place in the Blue Draw. 
 
Representing Ole Miss in the Gray Draw, Welker and Crowder faced off against a duo made up of two players from different schools, Natalie Outcalt (Auburn) and Indi Patel (LSU). The duo defeated Outcalt and Patel in doubles, 8-2.  

Crowder and Welker continued to cruise in singles, Crowder defeated Patel, 6-2, 6-2, and Welker swept Outcalt, 6-0, 6-0. 

Welker and Crowder advance to the Gray Draw Championship on Sunday against Taly Licht and Olivia Carneiro of Georgia Tech.
