Track & Field Up to No. 16 in Week Eight USTFCCCA Outdoor Rating Index
5/20/2025 | Track and Field
NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss Track & Field moved up to No. 16 in the latest USTFCCCA Outdoor Rating Index released Tuesday morning.
This marks the 76th appearance in the outdoor national top-25 for the Rebel men since their first appearance in 2010, the 26th under 10th-year head coach Connie Price-Smith. Of the 135 total outdoor rankings appearances in Ole Miss history, Price-Smith owns 76 (50 women, 26 men).
The USTFCCCA's National Rating Index is a computer rating system which uses an algorithm that emphasizes individual performances, assigning a point value to each individual mark that contributes to a team total to assess its national ranking.
Junior and The Bowerman watch list member Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan currently accounts for 55.48 of Ole Miss' 115.03 points in the Week Eight Index. The three-time defending national shot put champion ranks second in the NCAA and leads the East Region with a heave of 20.75m/68-1 (30.98 points), recorded back in April at Florida's Tom Jones Memorial. He also reset his own school record in the hammer, winning his third consecutive SEC title last week on a blast of 75.72m/248-5 (24.50 points) and moving him to fifth in the NCAA and sixth in the United States.
Robinson-O'Hagan's performance this past weekend makes him the lone thrower worldwide this year to break 69 feet in the shot put and 248 feet in the hammer (when including his indoor shot put mark). He also won the SEC shot put title yet again, repeating as the champion in both events and marking his fourth consecutive SEC sweep across the indoor and outdoor seasons since 2024.
Fellow junior Arvesta Troupe currently owns 30.53 points himself after having a career-best weekend at the SEC Championships last week, where he cleared 2.26m/7-05 to take home silver. Troupe's mark ranks second nationally heading into the East Regional, as well as tied for 23rd worldwide and tied for fifth in the United States.
