Brakefield and Pedulla Set to Participate in Portsmouth Invitational Tournament
4/14/2025 | Men's Basketball
PORTSMOUTH, Va. – A showcase of some of the top professional basketball prospects in the nation, the 71st annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament will begin on Wednesday, April 16, with Ole Miss forward Jaemyn Brakefield and guard Sean Pedulla earning a spot in the event.
The tournament will be played from April 16 to April 19 at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia, with each of the eight teams playing three competitions. The P.I.T. has featured numerous top-prospects in the past, with an alumni list that includes Scottie Pippen, Jimmy Butler, John Stockton, Dennis Rodman, Tim Hardaway and more.
Brakefield will be joined by fellow SEC guard Wade Taylor IV among others on the Mike Duman roster. The forward led the conference with 23 games scoring in double figures off the bench this past season, averaging 11.1 points per game to rank second on the Ole Miss roster. He recently wrapped his memorable career in Oxford with 1,423 points to rank 18th in program history, playing in the fourth-most games all time at Ole Miss with 133.
As a member of the K&D Round's Landscape Services roster, Pedulla will be joined by fellow SEC member Jonas Aidoo and a familiar foe from Michigan State in Jaden Akins. His lone season with the Ole Miss program was an impactful one, as Pedulla was named Third Team All-SEC and First Team NABC All-District for his efforts in 2024-25. He led the team with an average of 15.4 points per game this past season, sinking 87 threes (eighth-most in single season at Ole Miss) and grabbing a team-best 68 steals (fifth-most in single season at Ole Miss).
Brakefield will begin play on Thursday, April 17 at 9 p.m. while Pedulla is set to open the tournament in game one on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. Event information including live streams, schedules, rosters, and more can be found at the P.I.T. website by clicking here.
