Women’s Basketball Adds Tianna Thompson to 2025-26 Roster

4/10/2025 | Women's Basketball

OXFORD, Miss. – Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is hard at work assembling the 2025-26 roster, as she announced the addition of guard Tianna Thompson from Georgia Tech on Thursday.

Thompson comes to Ole Miss after spending a year at Georgia Tech, where she appeared in 21 games as a true freshman. The Atlanta, Georgia, native provided a spark in multiple games for the Yellow Jackets, including their matchup against Florida State, scoring a career-high 19 points, going 8-of-11 from the field, including three 3-pointers.

A four-star recruit out of high school, Thompson was a four-year letter winner at The Galloway School, helping her team to two state runner-up finishes. She is no stranger to being recognized, earning AJC Class A Private All-State First and Second Team honors in 2022 and 2021, respectively, and 2023-24 preseason All-State First Team recognition. The incoming sophomore was also named the 2023 Region 6B Class A-DI Region Player of the Year and the Metro Atlanta Player of the Year.

In Thompson's final year of high school, she averaged 25 points and five assists per game, scoring a career high 42 points in a single contest. One of ESPN's Top 100 ranked recruits and a 2024 McDonald's All-American nominee, Thompson participated in the GSA All-Star game and became the first female in her high school's program history to reach 2,500-career points. Thompson was a multi-sport athlete, also competing in track and field for a year as a long jumper, where she earned All-State honors in 2023.

The third addition for the Rebels out of the transfer portal, Thompson joins Latasha Lattimore, Jayla Murray and freshman signee Lauren Jacobs as newcomers to the Ole Miss' 2025-26 squad.
