Ole Miss vs Southern University

HEAD COACH Matt Insell
On Amber Singletary's game today ...
"That is a kid who is always ready to go. Singletary has not played point very much in practice. She came in today and just played like a senior is supposed to play. She just came in the game and was ready to go."
On Southern ...
"I told the team all week that Southern was going to give us a challenge. They are a team that won 20 plus games last year and they wont the SWAC last year. Southern has a lot of special players. They returned a lot of players this year too.
On the team coming together...
"That is what I am asking the team to do. I have really high expectations for us. We are definitely going to go through some growing pains. Erika Sisk, Shandricka Sessom and a few other players can definitely shoot better than they did today. They can definitely step it up and I know they are going to. I am waiting for those older kids to really step it up a notch and get it going. They are going to."
On the non-conference games...
"This time has been great. It is really there to help show you where you are as a team. There has definitely been some adversity along the way. There was tonight. But, we came through it and ended up winning the game."
On Sunday's game against Middle Tennessee State...
"Middle Tennessee State is a really good basketball team. Every year, they're ranked in the top 20 of the RPI. Every year, they're in the top 25. They have won nine of the last 10 conference championships. You're really going to see what your team is about. That's why I wanted to play the game. It's not going to hurt us, if they lose it. It's going to be a big help, if we win it."
