Lady Rebel Pair Competing In Western Amateur

URBANA, Ill. Rising juniors Megan Johnson and J.J. Flynn of the Ole Miss women’s golf team are competing this week in the Women’s Western Golf Association’s 107th National Championship at Stone Creek Golf Club. 

 

The first two days (June 11 and 12) players played in the qualifying tournament to see who would advance to the Championship Flight of Match Play.  The low 64 players will contend for the Championship title while the other players will compete in subsequent Fights based on their qualifying scores.   Single elimination Match Play will be played each day, with the 36-hole Championship Final to take place on Saturday, June 16.  All other Flight finals will be on Friday afternoon.

 

A native of Lexington, Ky., Johnson shot an 80-77157 to make the cut for the Championship Flight. She teed off at 8:45 a.m., this morning against Allison Stewart of Vermillion, S.D.

Flynn, a native of Mt. Zion, Ill., plays Christina Pachuta of Perry, N.Y., at 1:15 p.m., today in the Second Flight.
