OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss golfer Troy Muller has been named to the 2001 Second Team All-SEC Team Monday by the Southeastern Conference. The senior from Braithwaite, La., helped lead the Rebels to 10 top five and 11 top ten finishes in 2000-01.

Muller claimed two tournament titles in 2000-01. He claimed the 2000 Gary Koch/Cleveland Intercollegiate and the 2001 Louisiana Classics titles. He was the first Rebel golfer since current Rebel assistant coach Haymes Snedeker (1996-99) to claim two consecutive individual championships.

Muller had a 73.03 stroke average in 32 rounds played in 2000-01. He compiled four top-five, five top-ten, and seven top-20 finishes this season.

Georgia's Nick Cassini was named 2001 SEC Player of the Year. Auburn's Mike Griffin was named Coach of the Year and Florida's Camilo Viegas was named Freshman of the Year.

The Rebels have finished no worse than fifth in their last seven tournaments this season. They are coming off a fifth place finish at the 2001 SEC Championships.

Ole Miss now awaits word on Tuesday on whether they will receive a bid to the 2001 NCAA Regionals. The Rebels are hoping to make the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year.
