Muller, Rebs Off To Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss.-- Coming off a fourth place finish at the 2001 Alabama Spring Invitational, the Ole Miss men's golf team travels to the state of Alabama again to play in the 2001 Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, hosted by Auburn University. The tournament will be played Friday-Sunday at the Saugahatchee Country Club in Opelika, Ala.
The tournament field includes: Auburn, Florida State, Georgia State, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, North Florida, South Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana, Vanderbilt, and UAB.
In the 2000 edition of the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, the Rebels tied for seventh place with a 295-298-301--894.
Troy Muller, a senior from Braithwaite, La., leads Ole Miss with a 72.38 average. Muller has placed in the top-five four times this season. He has also placed in the top 10 five times in 2000-01.
The Rebels have eight top five finishes and nine top 10 finishes in the 2000-01 season.
Following play at the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, the Rebels will travel to Sea Island, Ga., to play in the 2001 SEC Championships at the Seaside Golf Course.
