Ole Miss Men's Golf Set For Louisiana Classics

OXFORD, Miss. -
Coming off a fifth place finish at the Matlock Collegiate last week, the Ole Miss men's golf team is preparing to play in the 16th Annual Louisiana Classics Golf Tournament, hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette.
The first two rounds will be played on Monday at the Oakbourne Country Club, followed by final round play on Tuesday.
The 15-team field for the tournament includes: Louisiana-Lafayette, Colorado, Missouri, North Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Sam Houston State, Texas A&M, Baylor, New Mexico State, SMU, and Tulsa.
J.J. Thompson, a junior from Minot, N.D., notched his first career top ten finish at the Matlock Collegiate. Thompson fired a 80-74-77--231 for a tenth place tie. Troy Muller, a senior from Braithwaite, La., leads the team in stroke average with a 72.57 average.
Following play at the Louisiana Classics, the Rebels will be back in action on March 23- 25, when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play in the Alabama Spring Collegiate.
