Ole Miss Golf Prepares To Travel To Arizona

OXFORD, Miss. - After placing in the top 10 in all four fall tournaments, the Ole Miss men's golf team is preparing to open its spring season with a trip to Tucson, Ariz., to participate in the Ping-Arizona Intercollegiate beginning Monday.
"It's good to get back on the course," said Ole Miss golf coach Woody Cowart. "The field in this tournament will be excellent competition and a good gauge to see how far we have progressed."
Along with Ole Miss, the tournament field includes: Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, Califorina, UC-Irvine, Long Beach State, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Oregon, Pepperdine, Stanford, UTEP, UCLA, USC, Washington, Arizona, and Tulsa.
Making the trip to Tucson for the Rebels will be Troy Muller, Andrew Medley, Robert Dreyfus, Buck Puselley, and J.J. Thompson. Muller was the team leader in the fall season with a 72.22 stroke average. Thompson, who played junior college golf at Scotsdale (Ariz.) Community College, will see his first action of the season on Monday.
The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday. The final round will be played on Tuesday.
