OXFORD, Miss. - Former Rebel standout Haymes Snedeker is rejoining the Ole Miss men's golf program as an assistant coach, as announced by head coach Woody Cowart. Snedeker played for the Rebels from 1995 to 1999.

"It's great to have Haymes back at Ole Miss," said Cowart, who signed Snedeker as part of his first signing class in 1994. "Haymes played such a big part in turning this program around. He was a leader on the course and in the classroom, and now as a coach."

A native of Nashville, Snedeker earned All-SEC first team honors in 1999, when he led Ole Miss to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1985. He captured two individual titles and tied the school record for lowest three-round score with a 203 at the 1998 Gary Koch/ Cleveland Intercollegiate.

Snedeker was the first Rebel golfer to be named Academic All-SEC four years. His senior season, he was selected as a Scholastic All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Snedeker, 24, is also law student at Ole Miss.
