Ole Miss Men's Golf To Play In Atlanta Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team will travel to Atlanta, Ga., May 8-9 to participate in the first-ever Atlanta Intercollegiate at the Eagles Landing Country Club. The Rebels are ranked 42nd in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and 47th in the Mastercard Collegiate Golf Rankings.

The field consists of six of the top 30 programs in the nation, as well as seven of the top 50 individuals. Those competing are Alabama, Alabama-Birmingham (26th in the nation), Auburn (11th), Augusta State (17th), Central Florida, College of Charleston, Florida (20th), Florida State, Ole Miss, North Florida (16th), and host Georgia State (30th). Tee times are set for Monday, May 8 at 6:40 a.m. (CT), with the second round to follow in the afternoon. Final round action will conclude Tuesday (May 9) morning, with tee times starting at approximately 6:40 a.m. (CT).

Senior Jon Bartlett will look to lead the Rebels at the Atlanta Intercollegiate. Bartlett, who finished in sixth place at the Southeastern Conference Championships, has the squad's top stroke average at 72.10. His stroke average is seventh in the SEC.

The tandem of junior Troy Muller and sophomore Andrew Medley also will help lead Ole Miss, which is looking for its first tournament title of the 2000 spring season. Muller is second on the team with a 74.28 stroke average, while Medley is third at 74.48.
