Kim Tudor Competes in U.S. Women's Amateur

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Kim Tudor of Winter Park, Fla., a freshman on the Ole Miss women's golf team, shot an 82 on Tuesday in the first round of the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Tudor is one of 144 players competing for the championship. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the low 64 players who advance to match play Thursday through Sunday.
A 1998 graduate of West Orange High School, Tudor received All-County honors and earned the Most Valuable Player award on her high school golf team. Her accomplishments include a first-place finish at the Optimist International Zone 12 Qualifying, a second-place finish at the Optimist International North Florida District Qualifying and a first-place finish at the Maxfli North Florida PGA Section Qualifying tournaments. She also lettered in swimming, water polo and cheerleading.
"I am very excited about Kim participating in the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship," Ole Miss women's golf head coach Keil Purdom said. "The experience she will get from this tournament will be extremely helpful for her as she makes the transition to collegiate golf."
Tudor, who is paired with Stacey Burnett of Greenville, S.C., and Marilyn Hardy of Houston, Texas, is scheduled to tee off at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday.
